Mobile Sidewalk Ringtones Review

As of our last visit to Mobile Sidewalk on December 26, 2009, the site had been shut down. The below is a review from 2006 of their service.

Mobilesidewalk.com is one of the older ringtone providers on the internet. It offers a variety of polyphonic ringtones, wallpapers and games.

What MobileSidewalk.com Offers

The site has links to 20 different ringtone genres. There are standard genres like classic rock, R&B, pop and alternative rock. It also contains links to world music, including the far east asian and reggae categories.

If you prefer to search by year, there are links by decade. Finally, mobilesidewalk.com offers an internal search engine. If you have trouble deciding which genre a song might fit under, you can perform a search and go directly to it.

Mobile SidewalkMobile Sidewalk has 20 graphics links. Among the categories are general topics like cartoons, celebrations and romance. There are also more specific wallpapers, such as G Force, Garfield or Meet the Fockers. Some of these seem a little out of date, but there are plenty of general options to lure people in.

The service also has 142 different games you can download and play. This is probably the largest number of games I've come across while reviewing ringtone providers. The games range from arcade games and shoot 'em ups to boardgames and brain teasers. Their sports games include hockey, basketball, tennis, soccer, billiards, boxing and kick boxing.

How Mobile Sidewalk Could Improve

Mobilesidewalk.com does not have texts alerts at the moment. Their site states that this service is being upgraded and modernized, and the service will be resumed when these changes are made.

The Mobile Sidewalk site is not the easiest to navigate around. While you can find everything you need, much of the information is in deeplinks, because the homepage doesn't contain much information or many links.

Interestingly, the site has a customer forum. If you have questions about any aspect of the company, take a look via the chats at forum.mobilesidewalk.com. If you can't find the subject you are looking for, you can ask questions to the forum members.

Most telecommunications providers are compatible with Mobile Sidewalk. Among those which support their software are Cingular, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T Wireless, Dobson and Alltel.
